Interreligions Peace Sports Festival

IPSF National Representative :

One of the most critical positions for the success of the Interreligious Peace Sports Festival (IPSF) is the National Representative. The National Representative (NR) is the key person in each country to link athletes and coaches of that nation to the IPSF Headquarters (HQ). The NR is the person who HQ relates to on most issues concerning the IPSF and serves to advice the HQ on issues that are of particular concern to the players and coaches.

National Representatives have a key role in outreach. They should be in contact with individuals and organizations that have an interest in sports and should work to bring athletes and teams to the IPSF. Once an individual or a team applies and is accepted, the NR is the key person to seeing that they have a deep and wonderful experience at the IPSF.

NR work to help ensure that athletes and teams are prepared for the sports festival by clarifying the IPSF Norms and Policy. In addition, they inform and prepare athletes for possible involvement in cultural programs, morning devotionals and optional service projects. In general they should share with team leaders the general schedule of activities that are available.

NR should verify that the applications of athletes are legitimate (correct age, correct standard) and that the people accepted are willing to conform to the spirit of the event.

All participants, coaches and staff need to apply to the IPSF online. The NR is responsible for the data entries of their nation. If this is beyond their professional expertise, they can work with an in-country assistant or as a last option or HQ.

Although the NR is a voluntary position it is fundamental to the success of the IPSF. NR can share with IPSF HQ about issues related to the cost of doing the business as an IPSF National Representative.
